Telling a story about the occupation of Ukraine, Kseniya Simonova uses sand in a giant lightbox accompanied by a dramatic music to give the feeling of love, waiting, and despair. The precision is amazing, that every time her hands drop sand in the lightbox it’s in the right amount and the direction it needs to be. Besides the drawing, the artist herself is full of emotions, her every attack, hands swinging followed by the sand in her command, is quite entertaining.

About Kseniya Simonova
is a sand animator from Ukraine. She started drawing with sand after her business collapsed due to the early 21st century credit crunch and had been drawing for less than a year when she entered Ukraine’s Got Talent.[1] She became the 2009 Winner of Ukraine’s Got Talent[2], constructing an animation that portrayed life during USSR’s Great Patriotic War against the Third Reich in World War II. - taken from wiki
